The sprinkler allows surfaces to be watered in a definite pattern. The nozzle rotates round the sprinkler axis, and the pressure of water delivered to it is varied by an adjustable throttle (2) moved by a feeler (3) acting against a cam (5) whose shape corresponds to the area to be watered. As the feeler rotates round the cam, it can cause a series of movements of the throttle varying the pressure and thus the length of the water jet emitted. The cam can be stationary, with the feeler and throttle rotating round it, or the cam rotate with the nozzle and act against a stationary feeler.
