The dyeing of polyurethane type plastics with dyes which can be incorporated into the plastic with formation of covalent bonds, comprises adding, before or during the polyaddition reaction, dyes of formula (I) (where A and B are each opt. branched 2-4C alkyl; n = 1 or 2) to the reaction mixture or to one of the components of the reaction mixture. The polyurethane is coloured fast blue shades and may be used for moulding, foaming and coating purposes, from powder, soln. or dispersion form, depending on the use. Polyurethane elastomers can be coloured blue, from which elastomeric filaments can be produced.
