An adaptor for attaching stabilisers to the rear wheel of a bicycle for a young child, and designed to fit all types of bicycle, consists of a plate (1) with a hole (3) through the middle so that it can be placed over the projecting end of the rear wheel spindle with a tongue (4) punched out, each side of the hole to locate in the slot (5) of the rear bracket of the cycle frame thus permitting the normal chain tension adjustment. Projecting in the opposite direction are three tabs (2), so that when the locking nut and washer are fitted to the spindle they also lock the strut (7) carrying the stabiliser wheel inside the tabs, locating and locking the strut in the required position.
