A calculation system uses a numerical multiplier having M inputs for multiplier figures and N inputs for multiplicand figures, for a series of multiplications between a multiplier and a multiplicand. The multiplier has constant amplitude, and is formed from a number of figures greater than M. The amplitude of the multiplicand is evolved from one multiplication to another and is formed of N figures. The results of the multiplications are transmitted to an integrator. A variable figure is added, from one multiplication to another, so as to communicate to it a desired average value, designed to diminish errors due to the fact that a certain number of low weight figures of the exact representation of the multiplier must be neglected.
