Connector for joining =2 tubes, where =1 of the ends of the connector can be soldered or brazed onto one of the tubes, the end(s) of the connector is provided with =1 ring of solder with a core of descaling material or a ring of braze contg. a descaling paste, the ring being located in a hollow space machined in the connector; and the bore of the connector is provided with a coating to facilitate soldering or brazing, such as Sn or Ag. The connector is pref. provided with =1 internal groove on each side of the butt joint, each groove contg. a ring of brazing or soldering material. The quality of the joint is improved. The time required to make the joint is decreased as compared with conventional techniques.
