Prosthesis for aiding contraction of defective muscle to move a mobile part of a bodily organ, e.g., eyelid, comprises =1 first element which is adapted in shape to the eyelid and fixed to the eyelid by means of 1 second element which is adapted in shape and attached to the fixed part adjacent to the eyelid, e.g., the lower portion of the orbit. One element attracts the other magnetically, pref. the first element is made of soft iron and the second is a permanent magnet. =1 Of the two elements, which is to be implanted beneath the skin, is covered with a film of matl. compatible with the organism, e.g., silicone. Provides immediate provisional soln. for ptosis.
