Rescue capsule for submarine - with sperhical shape attached to hull on bulkhead with access from each side of bulkhead

The rescue capsule has a spherical shape with sufficient accommodation for the entire crew of the submarine. It is attached to the hull of the submarine in a watertight cavity which straddles a bulkhead in the submarine. Two hatches (9, 10) give access to the capsule from each side of the bulkhead for minimum manning time, or for isolating a flooded section of the submarine. The capsule is detached from the hull by internally operated clamps (17) and floats up to the surface. The capsule is fitted with its own decompression control, radio beacon etc. so that it can be rescued by any surface craft.
