Large composite blocks mfr from resin bound sand and refuse - giving crude structural bodies up to 80 tonnes

Composite blocks or slabs made by blending approximately 75 wt. % of domestic or industrial dirt and rubbish with 25 wt. % of a mixture of dry sand, sieved limestone and thermosetting resin, plus curing agents and vinylic pigments are required. The mixture is masticated to form an uncured paste which can be moulded or cast into slabs or blocks weighing up to 80 tonnes. The moulds used may have a rough finish to produce a non skid surface for making paving, jetties, breakwaters, etc. The paste may be loaded with heavy fillers and cast in situ under water. Method is suitable for converting rubbish into weather resistant, non-pollutant structures.
