Multiwell quantitative antibiotic test container - with wells holding nutrient and varying antibiotic concentrations

A number of cylindrical wells are formed in a horizontal plate with each well being about 6 mm deep. The wells are arranged in a rectangular array of typically 14 rows each of 5 wells with a common trough passing one end of each row. A solid nutrient is placed in each well to a depth which brings it flush with the horizontal plate. A culture sample is placed in the trough and the wells are innoculated, simultaneously by dipping a distributor bar in the trough and wiping it across the tops of the wells. The system can be applied to both Gram - positive and Gram - negative bacteria, it provides a sterile antibiotic testing container which will minimise lab. time, storage space and provide accurate quantitative results easily and rapidly.
