The impeller vanes (9) are integral with the impeller back plate. The vanes are not quite radial and are shaped as strips of even thickness, and are curved slightly as the outer edges. This shape of blade increases the pressure coefficient per impeller stage, without bringing the maximum efficiency point nearer to the surge point. The blade angle at the outlet is between 65 and 70 deg. relative to the impeller axis and the outside edge of each blade makes an angle of about 45 deg. with the wheel. The line (AB') connecting the lowest blade point (A) and the intersection of the radial projection of the upper end of the outer blade edge (7) is about 20 deg.
