Woven reinforcement of rubber hose where the reinforcement comprise two coaxial helically wound weft yarns interlaced with an annular array of warp yarns, where one of the two weft yarns is an extensible elastic matl. with a lower coefft. of friction in contact with the warp yarns than the matl. of which the other weft yarn is made. The reinforcement is used in hoses required to bend through tight radii of curvature without collapsing, e.g., for automobile air conditioning hoses. After lay-up and release, the elastic weft yarns tend to contract and form a series of windings of smaller dia. than the turns of the non extensible matl. The hose structure is more flexible because the two sets of windings do not lie in the same circumferential plane.
