An electric room heater, with a box shaped casing (1) mounted on castors (2) and housing an oil filled heat accumulator, has the end of the casing shaped to incorporate a control panel (3) at the top, with a fan type heater housed behind an outlet grid (5) at the bottom, so that the fan heater can be used as an auxiliary method of rapid heating. The control panel carries switches and indicators to suit both forms of heating, and a supply cable is housed behind a panel (4) between the control panel and the outlet grid. The panel is removable by pivoting it on the end of the casing.
