Slide clasp fastener is die cut from an integral plastics strip provided on opposite sides of the coupling members at least on one side of the strip with a pair of longitudinally extending ribs, which in the finished fastener are deformed into auxiliary coupling members. Supporting tapes for coupling members are dispensed with and fastener has the required flexibility. Preferably the strip includes integrally extruded tape carrier members and the ribs form a guide for the slide. Auxiliary transverse coupling members are formed between the roots of adjacent coupling members and have an arcuate configuration.
