The by-prods. are removed from the Ti in a vacuum sepn. appts. by heating the products of reaction to temp. above 900 degrees C sublimating the Mg and MgCl2 fluid during the vacuum sepn. and sprinking cooling directly over the condenser within the period when a temp. above 900 degrees C is reached and the most violent sublimation of the Mg and MgCl2 occurs.
