The spreader consists of a two wheel, tractor drawn, tipping trailer, which has a moving bed and is fitted with a spreader device at its rear end. It has one control shaft, which is arranged parallel and adjacent to the trailer tipping axis, which drives both the moving and spreading mechanisms. As a result of the arrangement of this shaft, the moving bed and spreader transmissions are not upset when the trailer is tipped. The central shaft is driven from the tractor power take off by another shaft at right angles to it. Hydraulic rams (24) are used to tip the loadbed of the trailer. The trailer is towed via a hitch (4) and is supported by a dolley wheel when disconnected from the tractor.
