Fixture for accurate tool positioning - has guiding perforated template for punching tool, with locating pins

The system for rapid and accurate positioning of a tool relative to a workpiece is used for example for positioning of a punch relative to a plate to be perforated. This system ensures that small number of components can be perforated economically. This positioning system is used also in large volume production. The tool carrier (11) has a perforated plate (3) which has a guiding pattern of holes which are of equal size. The spacing is constant in co-ordinate directions and for aligning the punching tool (2) the tool holder has a locating holes for a guiding pin. The tool has fastening positions for two guiding pins (5) whose spacing is the same as that of the holes in the guiding template so that guiding pins can be simultaneously inserted into the guiding template.
