Device for mounting trim on sheet metal - has adjustable final sealing piece moving freely inside trim

The mounting device is particularly for securing trim to the coachwork of a vehicle, and counteracts at the same time two kinds of manufacturing tolerances. It incorporates an adjustable final sealing piece (1), constituted by a fixed length intermediate piece, moving freely inside the trim (8). However at the time of assembly the two components are gripped together on the trim carrier (7), previously inserted in an opening (14) in the side (13) of the bodywork. The piece can be an ornamental button fitting the trim, and to which there is connected a flat portion forming a frame acting as a clamping device.
