A photographic prod. comprising a support with =1, pref. 3 Ag halide photosensitive layers each predominantly sensitive to a particular spectral region, associated with a colour coupler which can react with the oxidn. prod. of a developer in the presence of alkali, is characterised in that the coupler is of formula (where COL is a dye (precursor) radical; SOL is one or more solubilising radicals or precursor thereof; R is a lower alkyl or H; n is 0, 1, 2 or 3; (if n is o then COL carries the solubilising gp.); L is a bridging gp. which isolates the NHR gp. from the chromophoric system of COL, and is such that NHR is an aliphatic (primary) amine gp; and m is 1, 2 or 3). Use of above coupler avoids need to use aromatic primary amines as developers which are weak developer and tend to cause dematites. Unlike conventional couplers used in diffusion transfer processes above coupler does not include the developer in its molecule and the image is therefore more stable.
