the door handle is drilled out with a blind square-section hole. The square shaft has a lengthwise slit in it resulting in two halves at the end of the shaft. Two threaded holes are drilled directly opposite each other in the handle ending in the square-section hole. The shaft is inserted into the hole so that the slit is opposite the threaded holes. The handle is correctly positioned and screws inserted into the threaded holes until their cone-shaped ends have separated the two halves of the shaft, locking them against the wall of the hole.
