The metal plate may be moulded into the hub material. It may be provided with perforations and/or peripheral recesses. The drive shaft may be provided with a flat portion fitting a corresponding opening in the plate. The plate may be secured to a shoulder on the shaft by means of a screw connection. The plate may bear on a distance bush which engages the inner race of a ball bearing carrying the drive shaft.
