The light diffuser uses either natural light in which case it is used as a wall panel, or artificial light, in which case it is used as a lampshade. It consists of a number of flat surfaces, one side of each surface being exposed to the light source and being at least partially covered by coatings of colours. The colours used are chosen from those included in the emission spectrum of the light source. The surfaces are directed so that a major part of the light coming from the light source is reflected and diffused by the coloured sides, thereby lighting and colouring the opposite sides.
