摘要
New antirabies vaccine is prepd. from a fixed strain of rabies virus, which has been adapted to first explanation cells from foetal calf kidneys by repeated passaging, by culturing the adapted virus on these cells, with periodic replacement of the culture medium, until a virus suspension is obtained; the kidney cells being cultivated in a mredium based on lactalbumin hydrolysate (LH) contg. calf serum (CS) at pref. 4-15, e.g. 10 wt.% while the culture is maintained in a LH-based medium contg. 1-3, e.g. about 2 wt.% CS, and the resulting vaccine contains as vaccinating medium LH contg. CS, esp. 1-3, pref. about 2 wt.%. The vaccine is esp. for veterinary use but can also be used to treat humans. The use of the LH-CS medium simplifies preparation and allows direct use of the vaccine in veterinary medicine.
