Granulated pesticide which is active in water comprises :1 (1) solid acids or solid acid salts used in sufficient quantities to liberate CO2 from the carbonates or bicarbonates, (2) solid carbonates or bicarbonates, (3) one or more pesticidal substances active against vegetable parasites or insect pests present in the water and comprising 0.1-20 wt. % of the granules, and (4) carriers and/ emulsifiers and/or diluents. The compsn. is easily transported and spread. It is decomposed in the water to disperse the pesticide as minute droplets (such as those obtd. by nebulisation) without risk to the operator or neighbouring crops, thus overcoming many of the disadvantages of emulsions and solids compositions presently used.
