Mixed fuels for IC engines - contg. alcohols, aromatic hydrocarbons and heavy hydrocarbons

Fuels for use in Ic engines comprise (a) 20-40 wt. % lower alcohols (pref. 1-6C); (b) 20-70 wt.% aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g. products obtd. by distn. of coal or analogous products, pref. crude benzene); and (c) 0.5-50 wt. % of heavy hydrocarbons derived from the mineral, animal or vegetable oils. The fules can be used as a substitutes for petroleum-derived fuels in tractors, lorries and aircraft, etc., without any modification to carburetors or other associated equipment.
