Dosing ladle for the casting of molten metals and alloys, the novelty being the use of =2 identical dosing chambers, each provided with a casting spout and bottom fed by individual stopper rods which are simultaneously operated so metal can flow up into the chambers from a single filling compartment used both for filling with the melt and the decantation of slag or dross. Each dosing chamber is pref. covered by a removable lid except over the spout in order to reduce oxidn. of the melt by air, each lid being located by its own wt. and the stopper rod; alternately, one lid can be used to cover all the chambers. The mfg. cost of the ladle is low and it provides an identical dose in each chamber, being suitable, e.g. for casting cylinder liners for internal combustion engines.
