Double-deck silo for mixing particulate solids - esp. with wide size range, using only gravitational force

In a double deck silo for gravity-mixing of materials varying from powder to granular form, the floor of the upper silo is roof-shaped in two halves and has a number of outlets which can be closed. The vertical outlet pipes from the outlets in the upper silo floor terminate above impingement distributors in the upper part of the lower silo. Material to be mixed is dumped into upper silo by pneumatic distribution pipes leading from feed tank which can employ compressed air injection for ease of movement of material. When material level in upper silo in above 'roof ridge' of floor valves are opened and material from all parts of floor falls through pipes and is mixed by deflection on baffles in lower silo.
