Composite material for the construction industry consists of a hardenable material into which small hollow glass balls are incorporated the hardenable material pref. having a cellular structure, esp. expanded concrete or cellular plaster. The glass balls form 20-70% of the composite. As a thermal and acoustic insulating matl. Increased lightness and improved strength is obtd. compared with prior art. Up to 10% of the price of materials used is saved by reduction of amount of materials required.
