Electrical space heating plate - provides uniform heating over the plate surface when vertically mounted

The electrical plate is employed for room heating and normally wall mounted. The electrically resistive heating element itself is printed on a rigid porcelain or porcelain covered metal sheet. The design is such that the plate (1) in a vertical position does not become unevenly heated which occurs with a uniformly distributed element. The element is designed such that the heating effect is reduced towards the upper edge of the plate by increasing the elements width (3) in this direction hence reducing its resistance and power dissipation. The increase in width may be linear producing triangular shaped elements or non-uniformly producing a curved element loop.
