The container (2, 3, 4) is made from synthetic resin or other suitable material. Inside the container and to one side, is a flexible bag (12), in communication with the exterior of the container through a tube and leakproof fitting (13, 14). the equipment to be submerged at depth is placed in the container and the lid (6, 7), with seal (8), bolted down onto a flanged rim (5). The container is filled with fluid through a valve, air escaping through a non return valve. When submerged, the increasing pressure (A) due to depth is transmitted into the flexible bag and the equipment inside. A less rigid construction is required since pressure is equalised inside and outside the container.
