The rubbish is deposited into the system at various built in stations (2, 2', 2") and is conveyed along a network of ducts (1, 1', 1") to one of several collection chambers (3, 3',- 3"). The system is divided into zones (5.5', 5") and one chamber serves each zone. Three zones are served by one suction generating unit, (6), this being a number of fans connected by pipework (7) directly into two collection chambers, with the third chamber connected through intermediate piping (7'). Each collection chamber has a separator unit, permitting only rubbish to fall into the box and be compacted. Opening a sealed door allows the rubbish to slide out for emptying.
