The combined torque wrench (18) and coupling bar (4) for use on powered bolt tightening tools, permits torque calibration without tool change, and comprises a detachable length of bar (4) transmitting rotary drive from the power tool to the tightening head or socket (7), with the torque wrench built radially onto the coupling bar at an intermediary point. The connection of the torque wrench to the coupling bar permits only uni-directional rotation, with a ratchet wheel (9) and pawl (15) resp built onto the coupling bar (4) and a forked end (16) of the torque wrench. Two separate ratchet mechanisms can be used, permitting alternative senses of rotation.
