The combined horizontal scanning circuit and chopper circuit is used for a black and white or colour television. The circuit does not include a low-pass filter, while the primary winding (9) of the VHT transformer (10) also acts as the energy storage inductance. The supply of electric current is regulated in accordance with the line return voltage. A diode (1) has its anode connected to one of the terminals of an Al source (2), while its cathode is connected to the collector of a transistor (6). The emitter of this transistor is connected to the primary winding of the VHT transformer. The second terminal of this primary winding is connected to the emitter of a second transistor (11) and in parallel to capacitors (16, 18) and an inductance (17).
