Lorry and trailer with container transfer system - includes scissor action drawbar enabling trailer to move close to lorry for transfer

A trailer for carrying a container is pulled behind a lorry equipped with a piston and cylinder operated unloading arm which discharges an container from its tailboard by tilting it, and then lowering it onto the ground at its rear. The trailer is also designed for the container to be discharged onto it from the lorry by the same unloading arm. Assist the transfer, the drawbar on the trailer is uncoupled, and then by means of joints at its attachment to the trailer, the two arms of the drawbar are swung back with a scissor action and allowed to rest on the ground. The trailer has tracks which slope towards one another at the rear, and on which rollers travel to allow the container to slide backwards towards its rear. The end stop can be moved rearwards to adjust to longer containers.
