The stretcher is rolled onto a lower frame, this comprising two side rails acting as guides and fitted with four feet. Three U-shaped frames, with sides diverging outwards downwards, attach the lower frame to an upper beam. Each frame pivots on the stretcher frame. This beam, of hollow square section, is offset axially from the stretcher frame and contains a winch operated trolley, for moving the stretcher off the lower frame when the beam is anchored. A second winch and cable is used, in conjunction with a spreader bar, to lower the stretcher from a height.
