The compan. comprises a suspension liquid phase, a binder the filler, beads and opt pigment. The beads have an apparent density of 0.15-0.50 pref. 0.30-0.40 and a particle size of 5-50, pref. 10-20 mu. Used for finishing protecting or decorating all surfaces. The compsn. has low s.g (0.6-0.9 kg/l compared to 1.2-1.8 kg/l for conentional coatings) which reduces transport cost. It gives a smooth 150-200 mu coating with a single application, requiring 4-5 times less material than prior art coatings contg. usual fillers. The hollow beads also impart opacity by diffusing light. thermal and acoustic insulation, mechanical strength, and, being non-absorbing reduces the necessary amt of binder.
