An appts. for exchanges between liquids and gases, in chemical reactions, purification processes, evapn. and soln. making, consists of a turbine with blades attached to its periphery. The blades have a truncated hydrodynamic profile which creates a cavitation space behind them. The turbine rotates in the liq. producing a comparatively slow movement and the gas flows through channels in the turbine and the blades into the cavitation space. The appts. brings about a greater rate of exchange than existing appts. because of the large contact surface produced in the cavitation space behind the blades.
