The propeller is driven by an in line shaft through a worm gear and wheel so that the shaft (13) is at right angles to the centreline of the vessel. Two cylinders are fitted, one on each side of the centreline. Each drum has two end plates (12) fixed to the shaft (13). The drum is mounted inside a channel (10) which guides the water flow correctly over the drum. The drum has two paddles (18) each swivelling about the centre on adjustable swivel pins (30). The cutaway portion on the end of the paddle fits over the fixed guide (34) so that the paddles feather over the return half revolution.
