Plastics carrier bag with reinforced cut out handles - cut into folded over flaps with extra thickness fixed to bag body

The plastic carrier bag (1) has a flap (2) along the top edge on each side. This is rectangular and has one long side forming part of the edge. The flap is folded down over the body of the bag and, in the portion between is inserted an extra thickness (4). This is in the shape of a truncated triangle and forms a reinforcement. The flap and reinforcement are firmly fixed to the bag and the cutout (3) for the carrying handle is made through the extra thicknesses.
