Compsn. comprises (1) 20-85 wt. % of a polyaminobisimide resin prepolymer and (2) a solid lubricant comprising 25-80 PTFE, or 15-80% CFx where x is 0.85-1, or 25-80% of a mixt. of PTFE and molybdenum bisulphide or CFx the amt. of (2) being based on the total wt. of resin and solid lubricant in the finished article after hardening of the resin. Used for prodn. of components operating at high speed or high temps., e.g. ball bearing race, gears, goumals etc. Pref. the prepolymer as prepd. by heating at 150-250 degrees C a cpd. of formula (I) (where D is a divalent gp. contg. a C-C double bond., and A is =2 C divalent gp) with a diamine H2N-B-NH2 (II), (where B is is not 30C divalent gp.). (I) is pref. N,N'-4,4'-diphenylmethanebis malei-mide and (II) is pref. bis (4-amino phenyl) methane. The lubricant pref. comprises 30-50 wt. % PTFE or 15-30% CFx, or 28-32% PTFE and 3-6% MoS2.
