The head section 30 rotates about pivots 8 on member 9. The main supporting means are head and foot swinging legs 11, 14 pivotally attached at the upper ends to members 9, 2 and at their lower ends to base crossmembers 13, 15 which are integral with a longi- tudinal base strut 12. The various members are inter-connected by linkage 16, 18, 21, 22, 24, 28, 29 as shown. Manual or power actuating means; locking means; foot end tilting means and wheels are also provided.
