PURPOSE:To remove the tensile stress on the surface of the clad material or to generate the compressive stress, and thus, to prevent the stress corrosion crack due to the sile stress, by cooling first only the side of the clad material, after the clad plate has been heated at a temperature below the usual temperature of the heat treatment for removing stress.
