1284631 Knitting-machines WILDT MELLOR BROMLEY Ltd 19 April 1971 [24 March 1970] 14244/70 Heading D1C A needle selection arrangement similar to that described in Specification 1029373 in which spring jacks 5 are pressed by pressers 8 movable by raising or lowering cams so that a patterning butt 9 or 9' co-operates with a different pattern disc, includes a modified lowering cam. At a height selection station the lowering cam 18 is positioned to act on the butt 15 above and spaced from the rail 16 to bring it to engage the top of the rail. The station also includes a raising cam 17 and a slatted guide 20, operative if selection is not required. The cams and guide are mounted on individual slides 22-24. Pegs 26, 27 on the cam slides co-operate with a pivoted notched disc 28 so that movement of one to the operative position renders the other inoperative. Guide 20 is mounted further forward on its slide, which has a peg 32 cooperating with slide projections 30, 31, so that when projected it displaces the inoperative cam slightly which withdraws the operative cam a similar amount. The slides are moved at the dictates of pattern mechanism via bell cranks e.g. 24b which are locked in operative position by a latch 25 as described in Specification 1284632.
