DEVICE FOR TRANSFERING EQUIPPED PARTS ON FREEBOARD

The change over installation is applicable for equipment on board a ship, esp. that needed on a drilling ship. It employs a horizontal conveyor. A part of the equipment is installed below sea level. Precautions are taken to keep the construction above the conveyor at the lowest possible level. Apparatus is provided within the installation to convey the equipment concerned without disassembly, wholly or in part. The drilling ship has a room room constructed as a submergible deck, the floor being below the water line. One or more walls of this room are constructed as water tight doors (2). Heavy equipment (3) is partly lifted and conveyed by water flowing through the room.
