1520554 Vehicle air deflectors H SPIER & SOHN 20 Aug 1976 34760/76 Heading B7J In a motor vehicle a deflector of airfoil shape is hinged at its leading edge to the cab 4 and its inclination is adjustable by variable length struts 6 attached between the deflector and the cab, so that head wind will be deflected over the top of body 5. In a preferred construction the deflector is a synthetic plastic moulding having reinforcing ribs 1SP3/SP, Fig. 2, on its underside with transverse metal tubes 2, 3 embedded in the deflector to facilitate fitting to the cab and to the struts 6. The deflector may be made of sheet metal in which case a hollow construction is preferable.
