Mechanism for pressing workpieces from strip material - using friction transport and pre-cutting lips engaged by stops to obtain equal step wise transport

Mechanism is used for continuously punching out workpieces at regular intervals from strip material. Lips cut and bent out of plane of the strip are engaged by stops so as to obtain transport in equal steps through the punching unit (2) by roller drives (3, 3', 3"). Strip transport is effected by frictional drives (3, 3', 3") which themselves are driven via a slip coupling. The lips are produced alongside both sides of the strip by programming unit (1) comprising a number of cutting elements arranged in longitudinal direction. During the lip cutting operation and the punching operation the strip is held stationary in longitudinal and lateral direction.
