The reinforced concrete supporting beam has a horizontal flange from the centre of which a web extends upwards. It supports by means of the flange the ends of girders arranged in groups adjacent to each other, and transmits the loads onto columns or other point-type supports. The reinforcement of the beam has a complete welded steel structure concreted into it, comprising inverted V shaped vertical supports (9), with the apexes in the centre and at the top of the web (4), while the legs extend nearly to the underside of the flange (1). Lengthwise connection members (10, 11) are welded to the ends of the legs and to the apexes, securing all the supports together, and there are also a number of transverse reinforcing members, each having a section running for nearly the entire flange width in the top part of it.
