The stereophonic recording system has two microphone systems each constructed as a synthetic human head (1, 2) and each provided with two microphones (one for each ear) (3-6). The microphones are connected together so that signals received by microphones on the corresponding sides of the artificial heads are added for recording, for immediate replay or transmission. The microphones pairs are arranged so that an isosceles triangle is formed by two lines along the axes of the microphone pairs and a line drawn through the centres of the two artificial heads. The processing sector (9) depends upon the desired stereo application.
