Bulk material skip is emptied by tipping through more than 90 deg., its contents being retained by a cover, and discharged by opening an aperture in the top steadily wider. Tipping and opening the skip (8) is effected by lifting, tipping taking place in the first stage, while in the second the aperture is steadily opened wider. There can be a tipping frame with a cover support and locking devices ending the tipping movement. The frame moves in line with the support (25), and pivots (9) on a lifting arm, being first tipped by the arm and then moved upwards in relation to the support.
