N-nicotinoyl-4-amino benzoic acid derivs - in compns for promoting cerebral blood flow esp in the elderly

Therapeutic compsn. is new containing as active constituent a cpd. of formula (I): (where A is (i), (ii) the gp. or (iii) the gp. The gp.(I) is pref used for treatment of elderly patients for promoting cerebral blood flow. p-Nitrobenzoyl chloride is converted into the dimethylamino-isopropyl ester witht the alcohol, the NO2 gp. is reduced to NH2. and the product reacts with nicotinoyl chlrodie hydrochloride to give I (A=(i)). The compsns. are given at 20 mg/day orally or parenterally (pref. i.m.). I(A=(i)) is said to have a nirostatic action as well as promoting cerebral blood flow.
