1506780 Rotary positive-displacement fluid-machines; centrifugal pumps IMOINDUSTRI AB 27 June 1975 [8 July 1974] 27329/75 Headings F1C and F1F In a power plant comprising a prime mover e.g. a marine Diesel engine, 1 a main lubricating- oil pump 4 is driven by an hydraulic motor 12, the working fluid of the latter being drawn from the oil-delivery conduit 5 and pressurized by a pump 20, which may be driven by an auxiliary Diesel engine 27, the engine 1, an electric motor, or a waste-gas turbine. The pump 4 may be either of the centrifugal type or a gear-pump, and the motor and pump 20 may be meshing- screw machines of the Juno type. The pump 20 may be fed initially by an electrically-driven pump 31 energized by a generator 29, a coupling 28 being disconnected until sufficient pressure is developed at the inlet 19 of the pump 20. The plant may comprise two main Diesel engines furnished with individual pumps (20a, 20b), Fig. 2 (not shown). The pump 20 may feed a multiplicity of hydraulic motors driving individual lubricating-oil pumps for various parts of the plant, Fig. 3 (not shown).
